Public Enemies just keeps on filming

As we all count down to the last day of filming this Michael Mann movie, our Chicago "reporters" continue to fill us in on the latest talk about what's going on in their neighborhood. One of our members has just posted on the forum that Johnny Depp on set this AM, then wisked off back to basecamp just after noon. Sometime later, after changing clothes he was taken to another location, but unsure of where else they were shooting today. As of 11 PM tonight, basecamp had NOT been moved. There is some local chatter about today possibly being the last day there. But conflicting information is running rampant now. lol So as always, please remember that this is information that is not offiicial. It's just what's been seen and heard on the streets out there in the Chicago area.

Chicago to fill in for New Orleans in Public Enemies filming?

We have three Chicago residents who are beginning to report in on our JDR forum about what appears to be set construction in the area of Lincoln and Wells for possible Public Enemies filming tomorrow. Also reports are being posted about the area where extras are being told to report. They say that judging by what they can see, that it appears that this location will be filling in for New Orleans. Several blocks in the area are being closed off.

Public Enemies to film tonight?

Looks like the area around the California Clipper in Chicago is being prepped for tonight's filming. They are closed today and tomorrow. No information yet if Johnny Depp is filming tonight or not.

Friday night at the Biograph

Today's internet chat hints that Public Enemies filming at the Biograph was pretty much uneventful for the cast and crew last night, however some drunks were arrested. Johnny Depp and Christian Bale while reportedly filming several days there may not be finished at the Biograph and we know from the recent street closures notice (see Thursday's post) they are TENTATIVELY scheduled to film at the Aragon Ballroom over the next few days. That should be Johnny and Marion Cotillard. But this schedule's always changing. Stay tuned.

"Public Enemies" premiere mention

Hope everyone enjoyed their Memorial Day weekend here in the states! It's been pretty quiet over the weekend, but this bit surfaced on the net today.

This is an article about one of the cars in the film and at the very bottom it mentions that this car (and I think others) will be flown to LA for the PE premiere next summer. I look for a Chicago prem as well. I know there are rumors of something else on a very small local level and I think that's highly probable.

"Public Enemies" has left Columbus...for now

Reports in from the people in the area say that the "Public Enemies" bunch has finished in Columbus... for now, but could return at a later date. The PE cast and crew are moving to Chicago today for a scheduled 5 to 6 week shoot.

Chicago Public Enemies filming in May

Here's some Chicago "Public Enemies" filming information, it's being reported that Johnny Depp, Christian Bale and the rest of the "Public Enemies" crew and cast are scheduled to be filming the exterior scenes at the Biograph Theater and that they will use the Portage Theater for some interior shots. Filming resumes in Chicago "mid" May...and is supposed to run for 6 weeks.
