"Public Enemies" premiere mention

Hope everyone enjoyed their Memorial Day weekend here in the states! It's been pretty quiet over the weekend, but this bit surfaced on the net today.

This is an article about one of the cars in the film and at the very bottom it mentions that this car (and I think others) will be flown to LA for the PE premiere next summer. I look for a Chicago prem as well. I know there are rumors of something else on a very small local level and I think that's highly probable.

This imdb thread is somewhat reliable as the poster using the name herenotthere appears to be a PE crew member. If this is true looks like we can say buh-bye to the meet and greets. I don't blame them one bit.

Public Enemies filming Saturday update

Sorry to be just now getting this posted, but real life took over. Seems that after wrapping for the day last night (this morning) there was a group of drunk 20something guys who really hassled and got quite nasty to the cast and crew. Reports on various sites and blogs from people there, all say about the same thing and that Johnny's personal security team had to step up and take control. It was reported that they announced later to the waiting crowd that Johnny had gone and was on his plane.

Just like Elvis.

He was outta there.

Mini editorial question: Chicago seems to have had a shooting in the area in the day or so before, (not filming related) I can't help but wonder, as many bloggers and forum posters have as well, where were the area police? I know they can't be everywhere, but you have a bunch of drunk "kids" running amuck on a holiday night, and a large film crew trying to get their work done in the same area.
Sounds like trouble to me.

Public Enemies films at the Biograph

Last night late there were reports of barracades being in place and small crowds gathering near the Biograph area, but at midnight Chicago time there was no news "out there" in the great internet abyss about the "Public Enemies" filming. Nothing being reported as yet this morning, but it's very early there in Chicago.

Don't forget that this film is based on "Public Enemies" by Bryan Burrough, it's a great read! And that the film is being directed by Michael Mann for Universal.

Any news of Johnny Depp or Christian Bale filming will be posted as they come in.

Chicago "Public Enemies" night filming continues

It's all over the net, so it's no secret that last night there were run throughs with stand ins and scenes were rehearsed and blocked for THE scene at the Biograph. Johnny Depp was seen in the area, but isn't reported to have filmed anything. It's suspected that this "could" be filmed tonight. The people who know for sure, aren't talking. LOL

OK, those of you who know me from our main forum, http://www.johnnydeppreads.com/ know that we try very hard to be as respectful of him as a person and actor as possible. Soapbox rant ahead: warning!

That said, if you are in the area and plan to go tonight, please think twice about that. There will be many, many other opportunities for you to see or greet Johnny before he leaves in few weeks where he will be less stressed. Please try to give the actors and crew some space and please try to be respectful of their work environment. This is their job space. They have a tough job to do. They don't "owe" us the right to watch or even be there. Imagine if you had a very long, tedious and difficult day at your job and hundreds of people decided to come to your work space and watch you do your job.

Public Enemies, Chicago

Appaerntly work is still being done to the facade and the street, so who knows when the fateful scene will be filmed?!

More Chicago "Public Enemies" info

More internet chat has Johnny Depp out on May 27 and 28. The 27th is his daughter's birthday. We've also heard that the cast and crew will have the holiday weekend off, so that's no filming on May 24, 25, 26, then no Johnny on the 27 and 28.
