PUBLIC ENEMIES opens July 1 nationwide, and July 3 in the UK. It also stars Marion Cotillard, Billy Crudup, Christian Bale, John Michael Bolger, Branka Katic, Christian Stolte, Michael Bentt and Stephen Dorff. It's directed by Michael Mann for Universal and is based on the book by the same name by Bryan Burrough.

In addition to Johnny Depp as John Dillinger, the film stars Marion Cotillard as Evelyn Frechette, Christian Bale as Melvin Purvis and Billy Crudup as J. Edgar Hoover. Also starring are John Michael Bolger, Channing Tatum, Christian Stolte, Branka Katic and Giovanni Ribisi. The film is in theaters July 01.

According to internet bookseller Amazon.com, Johnny Depp will pen the introduction to what appears to be the third collection of HST letters, "The Mutineer: Rants, Ravings, and Missives from the Mountaintop 1977-2005." The book is reportedly to be released October 27, 2009.
