Public Enemies stars Johnny Depp as legendary 1930's gangster John Dillinger with Christian Bale as "G-Man" Melvin Purvis and Marion Cotillard as Dillinger's love, Evelyn (Billie) Frechette. Also in the film are Channing Tatum as Pretty Boy Floyd, Giovanni Ribisi as Alvin Karpis and Stephen Dorff as Homer Van Meter. Universal has scheduled a July 01, 2009 release date.

And we thought it was going to be a quiet holiday here in the states. ;)

SAM SARKAR

Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Sam Sarkar is a 23-year veteran of the entertainment industry. He began his career as an actor and was one of the leads on the long-running, syndicated television series “Neon Rider”. Following the series, Sam decided to pursue writing and worked for the hit television series “Beverly Hills 90210”. Stemming from his work on the show, he also co-wrote a television pilot for Spelling Entertainment under the direct guidance of TV legend Aaron Spelling. Deciding then to embark on feature films, Sam took some chances, following a varied path of writing screenplays and working as a sound technician. In 2004, after working on several films with actor Johnny Depp, Sam was asked to help run Depp's production company, Infinitum Nihil, headed by Christi Dembrowski. As such, he continues to serve the varied needs of Hollywood as an executive, producer and writer. Caliber is his first graphic novel.

Looks like Universal had an early test screening of a very rudimentary version of the upcoming Johnny Depp, Michael Mann film about John Dillinger, Public Enemies. Three time Academy award nominee Depp plays Dillinger and Academy award winner Marion Cotillard is Dillinger's love interest Billie Frechette. Christian Bale plays the man on the hunt for Dillinger, "G Man" Melvin Purvis. The film is scheduled for a July 01, 2009 release and is based on the Bryan Burrough true crime book by the same name.
