PUBLIC ENEMIES is released nationwide on July 1 and stars Johnny Depp as John Dillinger, Christian Bale as FBI Agent Melvin Purvis along with Marion Cotillard, Billy Crudup, John Michael Bolger, Branka Katic. The film is based on the true crime book by the same name written by NT Times best selling author Bryan Burrough. The film is directed by Michael Mann for Universal.

Johnny Depp's Public Enemies' first test screening

Looks like Universal had an early test screening of a very rudimentary version of the upcoming Johnny Depp, Michael Mann film about John Dillinger, Public Enemies. Three time Academy award nominee Depp plays Dillinger and Academy award winner Marion Cotillard is Dillinger's love interest Billie Frechette. Christian Bale plays the man on the hunt for Dillinger, "G Man" Melvin Purvis. The film is scheduled for a July 01, 2009 release and is based on the Bryan Burrough true crime book by the same name.
