Depp's Rum Diary adds to cast

"The Rum Diary" is filling in its cast. The Hollywood Reporter is saying that Richard Jenkins has signed and that Aaron Eckhart is in negotiations to play along side Johnny Depp in the first film from his Infinitum Nihil's shingle. Click here: Eckhart, Jenkins book 'Rum Diary' pic

They are reporting that Eckhart would play Sanderson while Jenkins is on as Lotterman, Bruce Robinson is directing. Production is slated to begin in Puerto Rico March 30.

Johnny Depp's "The Rum Diary" begins casting

According to this industry blog Click here: Blog Stage - Acting in Film, TV, Theatre: Yo, Ho, Ho… casting for Johnny Depp's "The Rum Diary" has begun with Denise Chamian doing the casting. If her name sounds familiar it's because she also did POTC 2 & 3 and is doing Rango too. "The Rum Diary" is based on the novel of the same name by Hunter S. Thompson and is being directed by Bruce Robinson for Depp's Infinitum Nihil. Production is reported to begin in March.

Johnny Depp's production company, Infinitum Nihil, optioned this book, so of course I had to read it and once I read it, I wanted to talk with its author, the fascinating Gordon Dahlquist.

"The Glass Books of the Dream Eaters" is a suspense, mystery, fantasy novel set in a Victorian period fictional European country, the story unfolds over two and half days and includes characters with names such as Cardinal Chang, Miss Temple and Doctor Svenson. SAM SARKAR

Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Sam Sarkar is a 23-year veteran of the entertainment industry. He began his career as an actor and was one of the leads on the long-running, syndicated television series “Neon Rider”. Following the series, Sam decided to pursue writing and worked for the hit television series “Beverly Hills 90210”. Stemming from his work on the show, he also co-wrote a television pilot for Spelling Entertainment under the direct guidance of TV legend Aaron Spelling. Deciding then to embark on feature films, Sam took some chances, following a varied path of writing screenplays and working as a sound technician. In 2004, after working on several films with actor Johnny Depp, Sam was asked to help run Depp's production company, Infinitum Nihil, headed by Christi Dembrowski. As such, he continues to serve the varied needs of Hollywood as an executive, producer and writer. Caliber is his first graphic novel.

Depp's "Rex Mundi" needs a director.

Seems like the "Rex Mundi" script has been written by Jim Uhls and now Johnny Depp's Infinitum Nihil is on the search for a director. Infinitum Nihil optioned Rex Mundi, Arvid Nelson's fabulous alternate history inspired graphic novel series for the big screen.

Caliber's comic book series trailer

Johnny Depp's production company, Infinitum Nihil will be taking this graphic novel written by Sam Sarkar from print to screen with director John Woo.

Sam Sarkar and "Caliber" at Comic Con

All eyes have shifted to San Diego and Comic Con as Radical Publishing showcases Caliber, written by Sam Sarkar and illustrated by Garrie Gastonny. Johnny Depp's Infinitum Nihil will be bringing this western gunslinger's tale to film with a new take on the Arthurian legends. Caliber is to be directed by John Woo. Sam was present yesterday and graciously signed books and posted for photos with fans! What a great guy he is! Sam has more appearances slated for this weekend.

John Woo tapped to direct Infinitum Nihil's Caliber

John Woo has been tapped as director for the adaptation of Sam Sarkar's graphic novel series Caliber. Radical Publishing's Caliber puts King Arthur and his knights in the Pacific Northwest of the 19th century as gunslingers and gives a whole new take on the meaning of the word "caliber".

Infinitum Nihil is listed with Barry Levine's Radical Comics and Lion Rock ( run by Woo with partner Terence Chang) as co-producers for Caliber according to Variety http://www.variety.com/VR1117989053.html

Sarkar is also Director of Development for Johnny Depp's Infinitum Nihil production company.

Look for Sarkar to appear at the upcoming Comic-Con in San Diego this week promoting Caliber.
