Public Enemies in Chicago on Friday night

According to several people on the net, it seems that filming last night was primarily at the Bank of America Building on So. LaSalle. People say they believe it was a scene at a restaurant, using Depp as Dillinger and Marion Cotillard as Billie Frechette.

He reportedly greeted a small number of fans and then left for the weekend.

Has "Public Enemies" filming ended at the Biograph?

Internet postings on forums out there say the Public Enemies cast and crew wrapped Biograph filming last night/this morning. And that, as suspected, Christian Bale seems to have finished his work on Public Enemies as he is needed on Terminator 4 in New Mexico. Also chatter around the net that Johnny Depp and the Public Enemies group will return to the Aragon Ballroom.

Public Enemies fan events over?

Are the meet and greets over? Just in Chicago? Everywhere?

This imdb thread is somewhat reliable as the poster using the name herenotthere appears to be a PE crew member. If this is true looks like we can say buh-bye to the meet and greets. I don't blame them one bit.

Johnny Depp is in Chicago

We've been told on our main forum that Johnny Depp filmed a robbery scene at the Bridgeview Bank location earlier today. And that they saw Stephen Dorff holding a girl hostage in one scene. Also, a small crowd saw Depp on the "Public Enemies" Chicago location earlier today.

"Public Enemies"' filming at Union Station

Slow news day today, internet reports have "Public Enemies" filming at and around Chicago's Union Station today. Filming reportedly is to continue in the Union Station, Uptown area and at the Biograph Theater through this week. And Christian Bale has reportedly been seen on the set today.

"Public Enemies" films again tonight in Chicago, and news on Oshkosh, Little Bohemia and Beaver Dam

Johnny Depp's "Public Enemies" is once again slated to film tonight and into the early morning in Chicago. The film's being directed by Michael Mann.

Crews in Oshkosh are busy making that town resemble Sioux Falls in 1934. They've just taken down the spire from the outdoor sundial. Go

Rod's blog has a great report from Ty about his secret, undercover sleuthing and general noseying around up there in Little Bohemia. Little Bo is where the FBI thought they had public enemies John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson and their "gang" cornered in a shoot up that took place back in April of 1934. The infamous FBI raid was led by "G-man" Melvin Purvis. Sad situation up there in Little Bo for folks NOT on the "most wanted" list. Be sure to look at Ty's picture album while you are there.

I highly recommend that everyone who's following this movie filming read or at least peruse the book that it's based on. "Public Enemies, America's Greatest Crime Wave and the Birth of the FBI, 1933 - 34" by Bryan Burrough. Lots of good stuff there and it will make it a heck of a lot more fun following the movie.

Lastly it seems the dates for filming at the Rogers Hotel in Beaver Dam are being narrowed down somewhat.

If it's Wednesday, Public Enemies filming goes on in Chicago

Night scenes rock in Chicago. Johnny Depp's 'Public Enemies' was filming over night again in the Clark, Sheffield and Newport areas. Christian Bale was reportedly on set as was Depp and Cotillard. No confirmation yet on Marion Cotillard.

Apparently, according to this column security is a bit tighter and nocturnal fans are being kept a bit further away from the action, that does involve gun fire, and some chase scenes.

Also it's reported that PE costar Stephen Dorff was seen dining at Chicago's Lux Bar.

"Public Enemies" filming is up and running tonight, this link was posted on imdb.com, they are reportedly pics of the Chicago shantytown village under and around the El track near Clark and Newport in the Wrigleyville area of Chicago, the poster said that these pics are from the last few days's filming including tonight. No news yet if Johnny Depp is on set tonight.

Chicago Public Enemies filming and news about Milwaukee filming

"Public Enemies" just keeps on filming in Chicago this week with Christian Bale as Melvin Purvis, the FBI guy who hunted Dillinger.

Johnny Depp is expected to return to the set this week. And filming is scheduled to begin in Aurora, IL at the Paramount Theater, where it's been suggested that the Paramount would fill in for the Biograph. A report today suggests that Dillinger's bank robbery in Racine in 1933 could be shot in Milwaukee instead and that a spokesperson from the Milwaukee County Historical Center confirmed that a bank scene would be filmed there.

Public Enemies pulls an all nighter in Chicago

The "Public Enemies" film starring Johnny Depp, Christian Bale and Rory Cochrane continues to film this weekend, but without Depp. Reports are fast and furious about the filming that went on over night in Chicago that had Bale and Cochrane working in the freezing weather all night. Christian Bale is playing FBI "G-Man" Melvin Purvis and Cochrane is playing Phil D'Andrea, a member of a Chicago syndicate. Depp's Dillinger character isn't needed for these Chicago scenes. "Public Enemies" is being directed by Michael Mann and is based on the true crime book of the same name written by Bryan Burrough.

Filming reportedly will move to Aurora, IL next week, to film at the Paramount Theater there, look for Depp to be on hand.
